Last night, I pretty much got home, ate "lunch" and then crashed. I was exceptionally worn out yesterday.
I'm not sure why, but this week has been exceptionally high on the energy drain. I'm not sure if it's because of the trip to KU on Monday or if it's cause this week has just been a lot of blah at work. (Of course, this week ended up having two Mondays, so that's probably part of it. I hate weeks that have two Mondays.)
Granted, the trip to KU was good. I got there early cause I didn't know how long the drive would be. I lounged around the KU Visitor Center for about 45 minutes before the tour presentation started. The actual presentation was ok. Nothing that I didn't already know about KU. All the info they went over was stuff I'd gotten off the website already. Once that was done, the group headed up to the Student Union and started an exceptionally freezing walking tour of the campus. (What possessed them to think people wanted to walk around in the freezing cold wind is beyond me.) We ended up getting the abbreviated version of the tour cause it was getting way too cold. Once we got back to the Union, the tour was finished and I had about 2 hours before my appointment with the Fine Art Department advisor, so I wandered around at the Union for a bit, looking at the Bookstore and grabbing something to eat. Bookstore is decent. Nothing like I was used to when living in Utah. BYU's bookstore is huge. But KU has a decent enough computer section with a lot of Mac stuff, so that's good.
Once I finished roaming around the Union, I headed over to the Art & Design building and wandered around there for a bit before taking up space in the "Commons" area there and waiting for my appointment. I finally got to meet with the Advisor and she gave me some info on the Art program and then took me on a tour of the 5 and a half floors of Art goodness. Yes, I did say "and an half" too. I must say that the building is a maze of hallways, dead ends, looped walkways and flights of stairs... the place reminded me of the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose. There are actually 5 floors in the building, but because at one point the University joined two buildings together, there's one part of the building that has a "half" floor, right between the main building's 3rd and 4th floors. It's kinda funky. There's all sorts of different options for the classes there too. Anything from the metal foundry to cloth weaving. It's an exceptionally diverse Art department. I'll be an interesting thing when I get up there in the Fall.
Beyond all the goodness at KU on Monday, this week has been dragging along. Fun with money, fun with cameras, fun with clients, fun, fun, fun til' your daddy takes the t-bird away... yeah. It's been that good of a week. I am glad that it's December though. I like December. I'm not sure if I'll get to go home for Christmas like I was planning (school is prolly going to eat up the money that I'd need to fly home), but the month should go ok overall. This week will be a bit rough cause
ottermama's paychecks are off because of the new job, but we'll find a way to survive until his first check on the 15th. We also have a photo shoot on the December 10th. We've got a pet store on the MO side that is going to have us shoot picts for their Santa event. It'll be some good stuff if we can get enough people into the store. There's a lot to do before it all happens too. It's going to be a long week next week in preparation for the shoot...
January is going to be excellent though. School starting and we'll be moving into the new townhouse. That's going to be great. Cheaper lives for all of us here. (And we won't have to scrounge up quarters anymore to do laundry. That'll be very nice.)
And I'll be happy in 2006 when my car is paid off. :)
Yeah. :)
